Biography

Sara Uhan joined the lab as the 2021 American Slovenian Education Foundation (ASEF) Junior Fellow in July 2021. She originates from Slovenia, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Ljubljana. After concluding her undergraduate internship at the Umeå University in Sweden, she continued with a master’s program in Biochemistry as a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholar at the Life and Medical Sciences (LIMES) Institute, University of Bonn, Germany. She concluded the program with a master’s thesis project at the Center for Regenerative Therapies TU Dresden (CRTD), Germany. At present, she is working towards uncovering the role of MAGE-A proteins in the metabolic flexibility of pancreatic cancer cells. She is passionate about cancer biology and aspires to continue with her research work in a translational setting.
