Dr. Fon Tacer receives TTU SVM Intramural Grant Funding Award

Dr. Klementina Fon Tacer, in partnership with Dr. Fernanda Rosa, will investigate yKlotho and miRNAs as potential novel prognostic markers and therapeutic targets in canine mammary carcinoma. They will collaborate with local veterinary clinics to collect samples from canine mammary tumors. In addition, this project includes a partnership with the Texas Center for Comparative Research (TC3R) at the School of Veterinary Medicine, where Drs. Fon Tacer and Rosa serve as the director and a leadership team member, respectively. Tumor samples collected for this project will also be submitted to TC3R to aid in establishing the TC3R Biobank, which collects, stores, and analyzes samples and associated data from animal patients.
